From 6 April 2013, the collective redundancy consultation period where 100 plus employees are affected, is reduced from 90 to 45 days. Employees on fixed term contracts due to expire are excluded from this total. The 30 day redundancy collective consultation period for 20 – 99 employees is unchanged. Acas are producing a non statutory Code of Practice on collective consultation.
