We are happy to announce that our distinguished Court of Protection team won the ‘Court of Protection Team of the Year’ award at the 6th Annual British Wills and Probate Awards, which were held in Manchester on 11th October 2023.
This award recognises those that support the most vulnerable members of society navigating often complex and emotionally charged situations. The criteria for the winning team required commitment to serving those who may be experiencing issues around mental capacity and helping families to negotiate the legal system in order to achieve the best possible outcome for their loved one. The winning submission will be able to show a compassionate and empathetic approach to client care as well as achieve the highest standards of technical excellence.
This accolade is a testament to the team’s unwavering commitment and exceptional efforts in providing vital legal support for some of society’s most vulnerable members during complex and emotionally charged situations and comes with high praise from the judging panel, who described the Morr & Co Court of Protection team as:
“A well-respected team who provide significant support to peers and stakeholders in the industry.” The judges’ commentary further highlighted the exceptional nature of our award entry, stating, “This entry was exceptional: every word in the submission counted; from the external looking work with the OPG and genuine interest in improving this area of law by writing and lecturing externally, to the commercial awareness by reference to costs realisation to innovative procedures with vulnerable clients.”
This recognition reinforces the fact that our Court of Protection team is not only dedicated in words but also in deeds. They have consistently displayed a deep understanding of the emotional and complex aspects of their work, ensuring that their clients receive the care and support they need during challenging times.
