Carl joined Morr & Co in October 2021 as a Senior Associate Solicitor in the Court of Protection team. He brings a wealth of experience to the firm having worked in the law for over 30 years.
Carl initially started his legal career acting for clients who had suffered a personal injury and who brought claims for compensation arising from catastrophic injuries following a serious accident or medical negligence suffered at birth. However, Carl became increasingly involved with the Court of Protection due to the significant needs of his clients that were considered to lack capacity to manage their own financial affairs which eventually led to him transferring into this area of law on a full-time basis where he now has over 20 years’ worth of experience.
Carl has acted in various multi-million-pound settlement claims that have been secured on behalf of his clients which have necessitated the purchase and adaptation of a property specific to their needs and requirements.
Carl has the benefit of acting for both clients who have suffered serious injuries but then continuing that relationship working closely with those clients and their families following the payment of compensation to ensure the client and their family receive the best support for their lifetime.
As well as acting for those clients who have lost capacity as a result of an accident or injury, Carl also acts for the more vulnerable clients who might not be able to manage their own financial affairs as a result of Dementia or Alzheimer’s, and who require a deputy to provide support to enable them to continue to reside in their own home, as well as those who are now living within a care home setting or have been the victims of financial abuse.
Interests
Carl lives in the North West with his family, he is a keen mountain biker and snowboarder having travelled to USA, Canada and Europe to pursue his passions. Although a Mancunian by birth Carl has shunned the football teams and is a keen supporter of the Salford Red Devils Rugby League team.
