Andrew grew up and completed his LLB in South Africa. Upon finishing his studies he moved to England where he commenced working for Morrisons in September 2015 as Float Paralegal. After a year of working as a Float Paralegal, in which he travelled between the various offices helping a variety of departments, he finally decided to remain in the Private Client Department as this is where his passion and interest lay. He has since been promoted and is currently working as Court of Protection Team Executive.

Andrew specialises in mental capacity and specifically Court of Protection work. This includes assisting current deputies with the handling of affairs, dispute resolution between potential deputies and the making of applications – including those appointing deputies and trustees over land.

Andrew also assists Holly Chantler (a Panel Deputy) with all of her Court of Protection matters. At the moment we have over twenty matters where Holly Chantler has been appointed as a deputy. A Panel Deputy is an individual who is nominated by the Public Guardian and Court of Protection to act as deputy when there are no family members to be appointed or when there are instances of financial abuse and the attorney has been removed.

Examples of work include:

  1. Making an application for a deputy to be appointed;
  2. Making an application for trustees of a property to be replaced due to incapacity;
  3. Assisting current deputies with the handling of financial affairs, ie; completing annual reports (OPG102 and OPG105);
  4. Assisting when an application for a deputy to be appointed has been challenged by a third party.

Andrew enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, rock climbing and fly fishing. He also enjoys playing and watching a variety of sport, with his favourite being rugby.
