Free legal advice cuts

News - 05/04/2013

As from this week, on 1 April 2013, free legal advice was cut back for the most frequent family disputes. There are now limited circumstances that allow a party to claim legal aid and as a result there is likely to be lots of people trying to represent themselves in court.

The bar council has therefore prepared a guide on representing yourself in court https://live.barcouncil.netxtra.net/media/203109/srl_guide_final_for_online_use.pdf. However, there are a variety of ways you can still access the legal advice you need and we can help with all of them from advice when representing yourself to family mediation and arbitration.

If you would like advice on how we can help please contact our family team or call 01737 854 500 and ask to speak to a member of the team.
