Following from our blog post on 21 March, we confirm that for tribunal claims presented from 25 October 2013, Tribunals will have the power to order an employer to pay to the Exchequer a penalty (£100 to £5,000: halved if paid within 21 days), if they decide the employer has breached a worker’s rights and there has been an aggravating factor to that breach.
