Morr & Co can trace its heritage back to a small high street law firm, opened in Reigate, Surrey, in 1729. In 1812, George Morrison joined the firm and “Morrison” featured in the name for the first time. Since this time there have been various name changes, centred around the Morrison name, before becoming Morrisons Solicitors in 1978.
As Morrisons Solicitors, the firm saw exceptional growth, expanding into new locations and offering a wider range of services. We grew both through natural development and, particularly in recent years, through acquisition of other respected law firms across the region.
At the end of 2018, Morrisons Solicitors merged with Harrops & Hepburn Solicitors in Oxted and then in 2019 with Wheelers Solicitors, acquiring their offices in Fleet, Farnborough and Ash Vale. These were strong brands with great reputations in their respective areas, so it was decided to keep their names whilst integrating them into the Morrisons Group.
Soon, however, the time came to bring the three brands together under one name, and so, on 10th January 2022, the firm became Morr & Co – the same team of expert solicitors, just under a new name.
In choosing the new name, Morr & Co felt like a natural progression. Morrisons Solicitors had been known affectionately as Morr Law for many years; the change of name reflects this familiarity and respects our longstanding heritage, but is also progressive: a name to take us into the future.
The “& Co” is particularly important as it recognises the unification of the three brands and the united team of talented individuals across the business. We believe that everybody in the firm has an important role to play as one team, pulling together with shared values; “& Co” represents just that.
What should you expect from Morr & Co going forward? We can assure you that there will be no changes to the service that clients receive. Our unified brand now represents a broad and loyal client base across the region, which remains at the forefront of the work ethic and values of the firm.
We will continue to play an active part in the communities in which we operate too, supporting local charities and causes and remaining heavily involved with our regional business communities.
