Business immigration

advice on business immigration

Our business immigration department advises organisations such as companies wishing to employ non-EEA nationals and individuals in relation to all aspects of business immigration.

The European Economic Area (EEA) includes the countries of the European Union and Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway. EEA nationals are allowed to live and work in the UK. Non-EEA nationals require permission (often in the form of a work permit) in order to work in the UK. Such persons also require immigration clearance (such as a visa) to enter the UK.

At Morrisons Solicitors we have a wealth of experience of advising corporate clients and individuals in relation to this complex area. This includes representing clients in applications to the Border and Immigration Agency (BIA) in respect of work permits (and associated immigration clearance) and advising on the most suitable form of application which should be made to the BIA in respect of a foreign worker wishing to work in the UK.

Our services include advising on:

  • work permit applications
  • immigration clearance
  • obtaining visas abroad to enter the UK to work
  • the highly skilled migrant program
  • legal requirements for non-EEA nationals working in the UK
  • applications to the Border and Immigration Agency
  • the Points based system (from 2008)
  • advising sports people and entertainers wanting to work in the UK
  • the Worker Registration Scheme
  • permanent settlement in the UK for foreign workers
