David is a Partner at Morrisons and Head of the Private Client Department.
He graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge, where he obtained an MA. In 1973 David joined the Royal Navy where he was a Submarine Officer until 1979. His legal career began when he trained at the Polytechnic of Central London (now University of Westminster) and the Inns of Court School of Law in London, where he qualified as a barrister in 1982.
He then moved on to the Chancery Bar where he remained until 1985 when he joined Morrisons, first as a non-practising barrister and then as a solicitor. He was promoted to Partner in 1991 and now specialises in UK and offshore trusts (non litigation), UK personal capital taxes, probate (both non-contentious and contentious), wills and estate planning.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. He is an experienced presenter at seminars on subjects including inheritance tax and trusts for the disabled. He also speaks conversational French and German.
